Is sacrifice always the right choice to make? Some people say it's noble... it's right... to give up what you love to keep it safe. But what if that sacrifice hurts other people too, not just yourself? Is it right to hurt many for the needs of few? What if there was something you could have done to keep that person and you safe without hurting anyone else?

Are you really doing the right thing? Or are you just... afraid?

I think it depends. I know some people who care about friends, partner, boy/girlfriends, ect., would likely prefer to make a educated choice knowing all the information they can. But sometimes, if the person in trouble feels like they may be putting someone in danger, it can be different. However, true relationships are built to last, and that's the most important thing of all. That's the best I can say without knowing more of the situation.

This is a hard question that only you can answer.
But I can give a tip:
You need to think about what your moral code is, and what has priority over what.

It sound like one of your rules is not letting fear influence your decisions.
I have a similar rule. If there is no risk of death, fear is not allowed to be part of the decision.
